Don Carbon, former owner, was asked to go fishing with George Pillsbury, then owner of Pillsbury. Don declined knowing Mr. Pillsbury wanted to purchase the company.

Oklahoma City Bombing- Carbon's representative and former Chief of Police from Buchanan, Mich., Clyde W. Weaver, attending a tradeshow in Oklahoma City, agreed to stay and help serve waffle breakfasts for the police and firefighters assisting with the wreckage.

At the National Restaurant Show in Chicago, former Heavyweight Champion Rocky Marciano stops into Carbon's booth to spend time with staff and enjoy a Golden Malted waffle.

Colonel Harlan Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, always visited Carbon's booth at the National Restaurant Show and enjoyed eating a Golden Malted waffle.
